The Federal Government has projected that its National Development Plan (NDP) will lift 35 million Nigerians out of poverty and create 21 million jobs within the next three years.
The federal and state governments, as well as the private sector, will fund the plan, with an investment size of N348.1trillion. The funders from the public sector will contribute N49.7 trillion, the private sector will contribute N20.1 trillion, and the federal government will contribute N29.6 trillion. The private sector is projected to contribute N298.3 trillion to funding the plan.
Dr. Zainab Ahmed, Minister of Finance, Budget, and National Planning, disclosed this in Abuja, adding that the investment is expected to improve Nigeria’s economic competitiveness with a five to six percent growth in GDP.
