Green Sahara Farms has started planting economically beneficial trees in four different states. As part of its Green Tree Thrift scheme, the farm has begun providing 300 nursery Cashew Avocado and Gum Arabic trees to each household in the beneficiary states, from which they can earn a minimum of N3 million annually beginning in the third year of planting..

Because tree commodities are already in high demand around the world, the tree-planting project would not only increase Nigeria’s foreign exchange profits but would also aid in the fight against climate change.

Green Sahara Farms’ Chief Executive Officer, Suleiman Dikwa, told journalists in Abuja that the farm had begun operations in four states, including Yobe, Nasarawa, Plateau, and Katsina, where it had planted 250,000 trees.
