CBN rolls out 27,000MT of paddy rice to crash the price
On the 23rd of June, 2021, the apex bank, the Central Bank of Nigeria, announced that they had finalized plans to distribute 27,000 metric tonnes of rice paddy directly to millers nationwide beginning on the 24th of June, 2021.
The goal of this initiative is to address the rising cost of rice throughout the world. The move, however, was made in collaboration with the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria.
The CBN and the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria have assured everyone that rice prices will fall dramatically once harvesting begins.
